Buyer has 10 day period after signing the contract
New amendment to Macron law («la loi Macron») came into force. From now the buyer of the real estate has 10 day period after signing the purchase contract in order to consider the deal and cancel it if necessary without any penalties.
Introduced in 2000, the law on Solidarity and Urban Renewal, gave the bidders a week-long delay period (starting on the day after signing the preliminary contract of sale) to think on the relevance of future acquisition. During this period the individual was free to cancel the deal without the payment of any monetary penalties. Since August 2015 this period is prolongued up to 10 days.Back to blog
